So, I took myself off to Maplin, they don’t do 3pdt 9 pin foot switches. I’m finding that it’s difficult here in the UK to source components. I think it might be wise for me to get in on the various communities around the web and start getting some pointers.
Anyway; I have picked up loads of components and a soldering iron. Tonight I have finally got to grips with soldering, I’m not that neat but I’m sure that’ll come with time.
My A/B switcher box with a DPDT switch has been soldered together, awaiting its place in a box :-) I’ve tested it with my two guitars and amp output, works like a charm, there doesn’t even seem to be a click when switching. I’m very chuffed.

My first project will be a really simple one. An A/B Switcher box. I want to be able to use both my guitars in practice & while gigging without having to mess about with cables.
I’ve seen plenty of projects online where they’re buffered, and have an LED to signify what output is being used. I’m not going to have it buffered as I’m using it to alter the inputs to a single output. I’m not too bothered about having a status LED at the current time, I’ll maybe mod that in later, once I have a bit more experience.
I’ll post pictures as and when.

I’m determined to have a blog, I’m equally determined to get into home made electronics, specifically home made guitar fx and accessories.
I shall endeavour to keep this blog updated with latest thoughts, pit falls and hopefully examples of the end results.
This may end as abrubtly as it began.
